Books & Bubbles Ladies Night

Monday 30th May 2022 starting at 7:30 pm
Featuring the Melbourne-based authors of Stories from La Tavola – an anthology by ASCOLTA, a group of women from a diverse generational Italian background, voices of women of all ages, from their 20s through to their 70s.
The book is about food – “Food as metaphor for pleasure, pain, obligation, envy, and love. Food to comfort, cure, curse, and connect. Food as celebration, consumption, communication, and rejection. Food as recorded and passed-down recipes, in cultivation, harvesting, processing, preserving, cooking, and eating. Food looms large in all cultures, particularly for migrants, across generations, and for women”.
For $30/$35 you will receive entry to the session, a glass of our very best Montelvini Master Prosecco and a copy of the book Stories from La Tavola.
It’s an interactive night for women of all ages. The evening will start with a short presentation of how the book came about, the authors will read some passages, followed by a discussion with the audience when we can all share our experiences about food in our upbringing.
